Monday’s Photography Trivia Question Winner is…

Congratulations to Amber Abshire for correctly answering today’s trivia question:

Which element is used in cameras to develop photographic images on film?

Answer:  The correct answer is silver. At one time, the silver-based exposure process was the cornerstone of modern photography. That is, until the digital camera came along and changed the playing field. In the past, just about all photographic imaging was based on silver-based photographic chemistry. The use of silver chemistry has not ended, but instead, it is a secondary method of creating photographic images that is overshadowed by the digital process. Today, silver chemistry is still needed to produce x-rays, silkscreen emulsions and high-quality black-and-white prints. Woohoo, Amber!
